  We stopped by Peekskill on our way to Bear Mountain to take a look at some of the old houses and the pretty high street. We didn't know what we fancied for lunch until we saw the diner; it looks quaint and like it serves great diner food... and it does!
  
  My husband had the cheeseburger deluxe. It comes with the tomato and lettuce on the side, which is always a plus for him as he doesn't like tomato (but doesn't like to cause a fuss, so he just gives it to me). It also comes with a pickle and some coleslaw, and some fries. He really enjoyed the fries because they were hot and fresh, which is not always guaranteed!
  
  I had the chicken nuggets and chips, which also came with salad, coleslaw and a pickle. I enjoyed it very much! I also had a strawberry milkshake, which was thick and delicious. the husband had a coffee, which was refilled regularly.
  
  The service was 10/10 and the booths were spacious and comfortable.
  
  Overall an excellent experience and we would return if we ever find ourselves in the area again. They only take cash, so make sure you've got some, although with their prices you don't need much! All of the above was a little over $20. An absolute bargain.

  Finally got to try Center Diner. This place is GREAT! Super-friendly server, good diner food. She asked us if we wanted menus which leads me to believe they have a lot of regulars whose meals are started the moment they walk through the door. We had a BLT, Pancakes, bacon and sausage. Old skool--cash only, red leather booths and swivel stools at the counter. Love it!!

  You could almost miss this little diner smack in the center of Peekskill. And by little, I mean it. It's one of those old school, 'metal' looking diners that you would see in older movies. It's cute, quaint, no frills and serves up some usual good diner eats. Came in for breakfast at the crack of dawn with friends once and I've been meaning to get myself back here again.

  This is a classic old school diner with an extensive menu. Cash only!!
  
  I ordered the roast beef sandwich which came with cheese on a garlic roll, and fries which I swapped out for onion rings. Friend ordered a breakfast platter which came with bacon, eggs,  corn beef hash, home fries, and toast. Then I smelled the pancakes cooking and decided that we needed to order a small stack of banana pancakes. The food was exactly what I was hoping it would be like! Large, comfort sized portions. My onion rings were so crispy and the sandwich was nice and thick. Home fries were also crispy!
  
  This is the kind of diner that every small suburban town with lots of greenery should have. The waitress called everyone sweetie and there were clearly lots of regulars on the barstools.

  Classic New York Diner! Cash Only!  It's honest to goodness American/ Diner food here. Gyro was really good with homemade addicting tzatziki sauce. Their coffee is one of the best tasting coffee from a diner that I had in the tri State area. I stopped one time just to get coffee to go! But I stopped by last night at 7pm for dinner (Friday) and they're already closed. So the closing time here posted at 9pm is incorrect. According to google map, they closed at 5pm. So that maybe the correct closing time.
